I went to The Iron Goat Trail today and took these photos. Beautiful hike.

 What do you guys think?

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

I hiked a lot of that LONG before it was a regular trail. Windy Point was pretty cool. The curved tunnel at the west end...too bad they can't open the bottom and let it drain. I know a guy whose company put the new door and fan system in the east end (Berne end) of the new tunnel. After the moron fell asleep and drove through the door. An old timer remembered when they put the door in that they had ordered two.....and sure enough, behind one of the roundhouse areas (Everett?) under the weeds..there it was. That's the up-down. My buddy's company installed the side-to-side over the front. Supposedly they alternate. There was an air lock on the south side of the east portal...looked like it was off a Tin Can. Fans screaming full tilt....open the dogs and door, close and re-dog, close the vent in the door...open the vent in the mountain side until pressure equalizes...undog and open the door, you walk out, under the fan output, step to the tracks, look down the tunnel and realize if that door remotely opens with fans at full chat, you'll get sucked under the door and probably pitched headlong into Nason Creek. My parents know a friend of their's that lives in Montana that actually used to operate on this tunnel. I think he retired recently.

I took some more pictures along that trail since we hiked along it while camping this weekend.
