This week, my BOTW is a custom(?) wooden barn thing that I got recently. It appears to be an unfinished project due to the fact I saw markings for a door on one of the sides of the barn. I will try to use it on the switching layout, maybe.

Digging through my latest lot purchase from last week, i found this complete Esso gas station, and decided to furnish it with some detailing from the rest of the collection. Tyco Dodge Tractor, Lionel / Athearn HO Chrysler cars ( at the pump and in the bay ), a Siku Messerschmidt 3-wheeler are among the visitors. A mini tractor and trailer with a sitting guy drove through. A delivery guy with a couple packages of parts, a bus rider waiting, lots going on here today! :) I may have to set this up on one of my sub-modular panels one day.

Jerry - Another Plasticville classic. They also did one with a tower in the middle. Microscale makes decals for the City Classics Gas Station that will fit your just fine. I have in my to do pile.
My Plasticville Estates home today is the Contemporary House. Another $5 salvage job.
Trivia: This plan is from a famous architect that built thousands of houses, apartments and condo buildings on the East Coast. It was 'House of the Week' in a national magazine. Bachmann even included a rear patio that matched the floor plan.
So when someone tells you PV is it prototypical, tell them how wrong they are.

That Esso station slays me. Wicked nice score.
The house reminds me of the architect
Frank Lloyd Wright. Never dreamed it would
turn up as a Plasticville product. Basketball
hoop is the first one I ever seen in HO, or any
other scale. I like the gloss on the black street.

Nope Chops it's not a Wright house. I don't have the name of the actual architect. If you do want an HO Frank Llyod Wright home there is a paper model of the Robie house available.
The basket ball net I made to replace a missing light fixture. I downloaded the graphic, sized and printed on card stock. The hoop is just twisted wire. The basket ball on the pavement is a craft bead. I would recommend to any modeler to invest in thick card stock and mailing labels for their computer printer. There are tons of signs and textures and window treatments you can use on your layout.

| Mike Brady was the architect. Actually, I don't know, but it looks somewhat similar to the Brady Bunch house. Needs a green station wagon.

Tough act to follow this week. My structure of the week is that little line
side shed on the right hand corner. Please note the Shell storage tank
and the shiny chrome Shell tanker, a pleasant gift from a TF guy who
prefers to be anonymous.

Tyco Barber Shop. Building is only half assembled. I have all the parts, signs, etc. building walls have been painted.

My BOTW is the one-story part of the Grusom Casket factory. I got it with a box of buildings I got from a friend who shops garage sales. I liked the building and a spot opened up on the layout, so here it is:
I changed the sign since Grusom Casket has become a bit too familiar among model railroaders.

Thanks. The mortar was just some gray primer that went bad so I diluted it into a thin wash and let capillary action find the mortar lines in the wall. The little residue on the bricks, themselves helps kill the shine of a molded plastic brick wall.

Lotek Industries is a realistic looking model of a small town building, and it looks like it's built on the real ground and not sitting on a model railroad table top. Nice job!

I'll have to try that. Previously I've painting buildings white and then dry-brushed the bricks brown. You got a really nice effect with the diluted wash though.
