Nearly fininished my Bowser Challenger. Because i cold not get the old "Super Motor" run I replaced it with a Faulhaber Motor. The Tender is form the Revell Big Boy kit . I did not used the original Bowser Electification Kit for the tender. I made one by myself using Varney wheels for the front truck an Kleinbahn wheels for the others .The wheels fortunately have the right diameter. - Erich

I actually saw one of those complete, built, in the box, etc for $100 at the recent train show. I think I didn't pick it up because of the fact that it probably wouldn't run on our track. But then again, the GG1 I have does so you never know...

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

It looks gorgeous and from the YouTube vid it runs well too. What's the most cars it can pull, or have you found the upper limit yet?

25 cars on level track. could pull more but then slower. the faulhaber motor is strong but slower. later I will put a Bowser DC71 in it.

this is the other Challenger I´m working on. remotored with a DC71. in front the useless "super motor"!

What makes the "super motor" useless? Does it not deliver the promised oomph, or does yours not run?

Have three of them - all get hot , then slower and stuck! no matter how exactly you set them! Maybe the design is to old? I dont´t like to play around with them! - Erich
