I went to an antique car show and flea this Saturday morning, cold and raining, no show cars showed up, but vendors for parts were there, and lots of people showed up anyway. Didn't find much train-related, one Marx 0 gauge set. Was hoping to meet up with some of my AMC car club buddies, but never saw any. I bought an AMC hat and some diecast vehicles. Anyway, left there, went over to Annapolis, MD to check out a train show at the Armory there. Nice! Parking lot was full, no spaces easily found. Good turnout. I did buy some stuff ( shh! Don't tell the wife ) After leaving there, I decided to Google Model train shops, I know there were 3 in the area 3-4 years ago when I did it then. I found Star Hobby, on the northeast side of Annapolis across a tributary, just along Rt. 301 to the Bay Bridge. Exit 31 will take you right to it. Anyway, I pulled up, walked into the store...and was BLOWN AWAY just walking in the door! It is amazingly well-stocked, I walked the aisles dumbfounded, as you almost NEVER see the level of inventory like this at any model train shop. He even has multiple SETS, in HO, O, G and other scales, stacked up. LGB, Lionel are very well represented, but he has an entire shelving area dedicated to JUST On30 stock. Pretty much a model railroader's dream! I really have to rate this place an F...for Fantastic! I asked how long he'd been there, he said 15 years at this location, 13 at a previous one up there. So it's amazing that I've never been up there before, after all these years. I would suggest a club trip up there one day, just to look around and eyeball the inventory ( and bring your cash and credit card along, too ). Guy is knowledgeable, and very helpful . Open 7 days a week. He doesn't have any detail stock, it's mostly rolling stock, engines, accessories, etc. For detailing, if any of you want to make the 4 hour trip, Bowser manufacturing in Montoursville, PA is the place to go. Another great trip that club members should make one day. They're loaded with detail parts on vertical boards that slide out. Anyway, back to Star... great place, I intend to go back again when I have more money. I highly recommend this place for you to visit at least once. He's also got plastic model kits, model rockets, slot cars, Thomas and Friends, some 1/43 diecast vehicles/banks, among other things. His Kadee coupler stock is top-notch, too. And tools...he's got specialized ones like the rolling beds you put engines on to test dynamically under power without track, he's got them for all scales, too. VERY impressive store. Just downloaded pictures off my camera will post a few here to showcase his store. Well, that's my story, and review, and I"m stickin' to it like a butt on a hot vinyl bench seat in 100 degree summer heat. :D Hope you enjoy it. The revew part, not my butt stcikin' to a hot seat.

Very cool! Great find. I think we'll all expect regular reports on what's there, and what you've brought home.
Evan PS I picked up a little something myself on Friday. I'll post tomorrow in LOTW.

A modern day Walthers Tongue in Cheek model, the "Eggliner". Very neat, though.
