Hello. I seriously thought this forum was gonna be closed at this time but guess not so might as well post our OTW's here. Anyway, my AOTW for this week is a Captain Jack box with a date (faded, but there) that proclaims "10/15/86". The reason I'm posting an old food box thing is because it currently holds a DCC Sound train with a ton of coaches which we'll get to in SOTW/LOTW/COTW at some point.

Nice tokens, RDC. Very neat pieces of history.

Tried to not post today, but could only manage TOKEN resistance. (Ugh, sorry) I think this is an accessory. Given to me in a ziplok bag, with enough parts for almost two of them. Bachmann Spectrum MOW ballast vehicle. Evan

This AOTW is just deer to me... I found these in one of my boxes a few days ago. I have no clue where they come from as I don't remember buying them!

Picked up some these from eBay...
Yep, AHM.'s Mate-a-Matic 2000 universal couplers! I do find them handy in a few circumstances, especially if I want to use any Mehano/AHM/IHC locomotives on my layout (it's an easier fit than trying to get E-Z Mate undershank knuckle couplers.) I'm not sure when these came out: in the late 80s and early 90s, only Kadee was making knuckle couplers, to my knowledge. They were originally made in Hong Kong, before moving production to Yugoslavia (now Slovenia) when IHC began selling many of the old AHM stuff. I heard these couplers are still made in Slovenia as "universal couplers," but are not currently sold by any American companies.
