This was today'a haul at the Allentown, Pa Train show.... There was a lot of of HO there and it was refreshing to see some new HO dealers. Some dealers were willing to lower their price a lot from what was marked on the item. I listed the prices to give one an idea of what the regional prices are in the area. Yes... some were bargains..
Bachmann Spectrum F40PH had some minor glue damage on the back end- $20
Athearn SD45? Seaboard- $20
Athearn SW1500 NS- Custom attempt- $18
Athearn SD40-2 NS $15- doesn't run correctly- Fixed missing brush spring in motor.
Tyco SD24 #2908 Chessie- $10
Mantua F7B Dummy Conrail NIB- $15
Tyco Plymouth Ind Switcher- Penn Central- $10
Rivarossi E8 for parts- $20
Tyco Passenger Rio Gande (Coach) marked "Club Car"- $10

Not bad, AF. Especially at those prices.

I have only seen 3-4 for sale on Ebay and this show in the last 5 years. Usually on Ebay they bring $60-$80....
The Mantua Aluminum UP passenger cars are hard to find also.... They Tyco UP plastic passenger are really really hard to find.....

Some nice scores for sure. I've noticed in the last few years, that many vendors ( in Virginia / Maryland shows ) have dropped their prices to move stuff, as attendance last year was spotty early on, but came on great by Christmas. I think people are more willing to spend some money, but also the vendors aren't trying to get top dollar anymore, either, there's too many good deals to be had, I've found plenty of bargains on and under the tables at recent shows. Instead of asking 25, they're asking 15 now. Much better, and I'm more willing to spend at that price range. Although at one show before Christmas in RIchmond, VA, half the building ( literally!!) on one side the prices were high ( looked like higher volume dealers ), yet on the OTHER side, more eclective vendors, and they had much lower prices on their vintage stuff. Needless to say, I bought nothing on the high-end side, and all my purchases were made on the other side with smaller vendors and more variety, too. It was an interesting show. Anyway, glad you scored some rare Tyco there. Can't say I've seen a 2810 Tyco before, the SD24, hmm. Will have to keep an eye out for that one in Chessie livery.
