I built this test track using the base of an old defunct electronic keyboard a few years ago, and have never really used it. But working on a customer's Fleischmann engines, I discovered it was time to pull it out, dust it off, and use it. Works great, and I'm also upgrading it from just HO track and slot track to add N and Z track as well. Was going to put some TT on it,but think I will pass on that option. I had mounted the board with drywall screws, and they were sticking up.so I cut them off with my dremel finally. Another "feature" is that it has a tube for 6 D-cell batteries, so I could run it off that if I had to. But I think I'll rig up a power brick inside or something as well. In addition to having a stable track platform, the base provides a nice holding tray for the tools, oil and lube, and other things, and I can just pick it up and move the whole thing when I want, as it's on the dining room table in this shot. So finally glad to be using it, and with the addition of the N/Z trackage, it will be even more useful to me. Just thought you guys might like to see how my trains roll right now.

2nd photo shows the temp placement of the new N/Z track board. Haven't got it secured yet.
