My latest purchase. Picked it up this past Friday. IHC eight car set, Northern Pacific Also to power it, two Athearn F7's Note the difference in paint on the locos. The lower is the older of the two, lacking the "F7A" inside the shell. Late 50's? Evan

That's a large number of coaches you have there, PGE. That all must look pretty sweet when on the rails.

Awesome set Evan! You've definitely made me jealous. I picked up a 5-piece set of NCL streamliners a few years back. Unfortunately they're custom-painted AHM cars so I have no hope of ever expanding that set.
Athearn also produced a pair of F-7s in the two tone green paint.

Now those I MUST look for. I actually put off buying the NP set for approx.2 years.! Since I got my Intermountain A-B set, I couldn't stop thinking about them, sitting so lonely in the hobby shop. So I finally adopted them.

Anything in the two tone green seems to be fairly scarce in HO. No idea why as it's one of the most appealing passenger schemes IMO. You definitely got a nice score with that IHC set.

What a set. I recall reading an article about how this was NP's last ditch, and failed, attempt to beat off the airline industry. Believe NP hired some high end designer who did a very nice Native American motif on the interior, and NP went with some new kind of brake that stopped and released faster to shave a little time of the schedule.
