Does anyone have a recommended replacement pantograph for the Penn Line GG-1? They're not available from Bowser. I'm wondering if one of the other brands could be easily adapted.

Pantographs from Bowser or the Varney GG1s will fit if you can find them.
After hunting for some of those and seeing the ridiculous prices asked for used ones, I built my own.

Excellent!

I'm going to print that out in PDF in case I need it. I might have to go this route.

I've been looking at the IHC units. They still command a pretty high price, but a junk engine with the pantographs on doesn't cost near as much.

Thanks!

Ray, that's one dandy bit of engineering! Figuring out, not just what you wanted the end result to be, but all those steps to get there took some real planning.

Some fellow that haunts the bigger shows around this way stocks all sorts of Mantua, Tyco, IHC and Rivarossi parts. He has pantographs for the IHC GG1's, but I think he wants something ridiculous like $18 a pair. He'll be at the Ag Hall show in Allentown on the 22nd that I'm going to.

That's a show that I might attend, if I can get away that weekend.
