Fire trucks at the El Paso Model Train Club. I am petitioning one of the guys to turn this into a strip mine; he models heavy mining equipment as well. This scene has been in place since 1987 and was built by one the of teen members of the club at that time. By the way, standing invite to all TF members: come visit our club and run your Tyco to Genesis on regular (analog) or DCC. Also N and O in analog.

This is Johnny Munoz from KVIA TV El Paso filming a segement that came out on local TV earlier this year. We do a lot of media promotion, and oddly enough our best returns have been from newspaper coverage, not so much TV or radio.

I think I can see why. In the newspaper, you can look at the address or whatever is on it more so you can get the information, I guess. Nice fire department, though. Anyway, my AOTW is a 1956 Stromberg box car in Chicago and Northwest livery. And the cool part about that is my grandpa actually grew up in Chicago a few blocks away from the railroad back in the 1940's and 1950's.

Love the firehouse scene! Especially what I think is a model BB, foreground in the first PIC. Thanks for posting!

Thanks, Microbusss. I'm actually not sure about the size.

A train bin find at the show yesterday, I pulled this out and said Yeah! Found the tractor as well as the trailer in the bin. $2 for both. I think that was a "Giant" deal.

My new power pack for my test track.

This should make it easier to test my locos when I get finished with them.

Pretty cool Stephen. Seems I can almost remember seeing one of these type things over the years.

I am on a chrome kick this week so my AOTW is a Hot Wheels cab over fueler. what better way to quickly top off the tank at a station stop for a plated Tyco F-7

I'm liking all the chrome metalsmith!
My accessory this week is a brand new set of doors that I installed on the movie theatre tonight.

metalsmith, great scenery on that layout ... looks like a continuation of the movie American Graffiti.
Cheez, great job on the theater ... are the doors scratch built? What's the rest of the building made of?

Thanks! The entire theatre (doors included) is made of styrene, with the exception of the door handles which are just bent pieces of steel wire. It's been quite a learning experience so far.

| Those are some pretty fine street scenes you've got going on there Steven . . . looks busy. And that theatre scene is looking good Eric.
