Guess while Micro Ben is dumpster diving, I'll throw this in so he can get it. i've done my share, I still do, I walk in the afternoons for my break, and hit 3 dumpsters at work, I've gotten laptops, office supplies, among other things. Even got an industrial Railroad catalog year before! Never know what people will throw out. I've also made some creative diving tools so I don't have to get INTO the dumpster, I have retrieval poles with hooks on them I keep in my car, if they're too deep or too heavy to reach by hand. Anyway, my JOTW is a Santa Fe F40 diesel, someone tried to add a Maine Central silkscreen to it, but didn't remove the SF name. This will head Ben's way eventually, as I don't do SF <much>.

I wonder why anyone would put a Maine Central decal on a Santa Fe Warbonnet shell?

Yea.... I am a dumpster diver too. I have never found any trains, unfortunately. Just brass lamps, Adubon prints (2), A beautiful marble lanp, a cut glass mirror lamp (must be from the late 20's or 30's), food saver and a NIB precision Porter Cable sander. The best was a Hobart Industrial mixer I got $450 for on Ebay....

Speaking of dumpster diving, the mansion on the property behind my house has had a BIG dumpster in their driveway lately. Since I trample all over their property at least a couple times every week on my way places, I've noticed what's going in. Cases for things, office supplies, intact TV and radio and stuff, a whole room's worth of (apparently unused!) ceiling tiles, perfectly reusable things. I would've taken some but before I could, 7 inches of snow happened and needless to say I did not feel like hanging around long enough to do much digging for fear of wearing out my welcome on the property of almost total strangers
