Just had this one given to me this week.
Everything but the main chassis was salvaged.
By some fluke of nature, I had a previous victim that was missing the very parts salvaged.
I had to flatten the top, as it was very arced, as you can guess.

It's nice when you can at least take two and make one live again. yeah, that Kader chassis was definitely bad. Glad you could use the parts to restore the other one.

A friend of mine was divesting himself of his HO trains a few years ago... he handed me an AHM FT and asked if I could fit it back in the styrofoam box insert it came in, since he couldn't. Well no wonder, the shell wouldn't fit on right... same mechanism as this one, warped into a nice little arc and totally seized. These really were total POS'es...

(would've posted earlier, but been away a while)

Got two of those *WD chassis waiting for shells...a respectable mech worth salvaging, nice work.

I have a good AHM FT in ACL with no rot. I replaced the motor, weighted the heck out of it, and now it pulls like a very smooth super weighted Athearn F7.

Here's one that didn't fare so well.
