Bachmann Stock Pen purchased from the collection of Jimandnancy. I needed another stock car like a hole in my head, but the luminescent green really hooked me. Thanks JimandNancy!

Nice stockyard, Chops. Now, my AOTW is the bin that holds my N scale rolling stock. It's literally just a plastic bin you can get at the store or whatever.

Wow, that is one busy little scene. I'd love to see the rest of the layout.

There's a whole forum topic on it and the model railroad's name is the LC&P, I believe. It is quite impressive.

My AOTW are these 4 inch Maple trees I received in today's mail... On first glance, I'm not sure how well I like the looks of them. What's your opinion?

Walt, hard to say by judging a photo on a computer. Eyeballing it in good light it may have another look altogether. In your photo they appear to have a bit of a pinkish cast to them. Even so, when placed in the context of your layout they may look great. Fall colors run the gamut.

If you can't reconcile yourself to them as they are, it might work to hit them from directly above with a light spray of a richer red paint - something more like an overspray than a real coat of paint. The two tones would give it more of the texture and variation to which your eyes are accustomed in fall color.

The color isn't bad and they do have a better red color in different light. I just thought they have an odd shape...

They're roughly the shape of sugar maples when they grow out in the open without interference from other trees.

Stock pens and stock cars and livestock appeal to me as a real fun model railroad setting. That's pretty cool Jeff.
