Photo shoot of my bud Robert who is a 17 year veteran Hogger of the UP. He started out in the track gang in Tucamari, NM in the middle of the desert. He lives and breaths train, and models a Fantasy League Santa Fe as it might have been. His other passions include football high school to NFL and Shelby's. He regards my Tycomania with an amused skepticism. Says he has yet to see a 1:1 horn hook. Photos taken last week at El Paso Model Train Club. Standing invite to all TFer's bring your train, (visitors always welcome and free!!), and tour the lines!!

Your club seems pretty fun chops. The clubs here in LA are pretty snobbish when it comes to running stuff on the layout. I wish I was closer to you guys.
If you are not having fun, you are not doing it right.

Yeah, I can believe that. We are a pretty ecletic bunch. I really feel that it's important to make every visitor and member feel welcomed and appreciated for what they do. I have no use for snobbery.
To that end, I stopped reading Model Railroader years ago. The one section I used to look forward to was "Student Fare," but they dropped that. It was the only place you could see the work of the average guy.
The Tyco Forum has given me new inspiration, and new joy, because everyone is welcome here. As I see it, this is folk art, by folks. And the monotonous stream of museum quality dioramas in MR just leave me stone cold- too much cotton candy.
It appears that the TF was started as sort of a joke, but it is one of the most remarkable things on the Web. Everyone gets to show and tell here, and I want to see it all. The TF inspires, motivates and fascinates me daily. I check it more often than I do my regular email.
By the way, love your new post, would also love to see the rest of that layout. Looks like some pretty heavy lifting going on there- a real slice of life. Lovin' it.
