I recently saw on Tony Cook's page an example of an "Illinois Central" 630 without the "Gulf."
Does anyone have this engine?

Somewhere I have two of those locomotives. But, I am thinking they both have "Gulf".
I'll give it a look-see.

It must be either very rare or no one wants to sell it

wrongo I don't have it
I checked my huge loco collection in one pic Not there
Only thing I has in ICG is cabooses or boxcars

ICG lasted from 1972 to 1988
the G is for Gulf, Mobile & Ohio
CN owns IC

It reads "That it was in the 1973-74 catalog and is the only time that TYCO cataloged a Super 630 in Illinois Central, rather than Illinois Central Gulf". I honestly believe it was never released.

The C430 made into production as "Illinois Central", there are two on ebay right now.
Not that it answers your question.
I wonder if the original C630 with the Rivarossi drive was done as "IC"?
