Another of my green paint rehabs. Proto 2000 GP-9 in Algoma Central plus 3 car consist from IHC. Forgot to take befores of the cars. Green were the roofwalk, doors, vents, trucks, underframe appliances and diaphragms. Just learning to use the airbrush, so the cars were hand painted. Don't look too close. Evan

Don't know if an engine and a caboose constitute a "set" or not, but they're at least a matched pair, so maybe so? Anyway, both of these picked up at the Greenberg show in Richmond, VA Saturday 20th. I have another GE caboose, but don't think I had a GE diesel yet, so this one appeared like a sugarplum, dancing on the bargain table, got it for $15. Doesn't run, so will have to take it apart to see what's the deal.

My SotW is a three-piece set of O.K. Streamliners. I grabbed these last week for $7 a car. They have a few missing pieces, but they're solid and in nice shape.
Two 80-footers and a 60' baggage.

Nice OK cars Eric. I have 7 of both 60 and 80 ft. cars. Kinda have a thing for them. You can still order parts from OK. I need the rear door for the shorty observation.
As to the green paint thing, the previous owner had dementia, and this was an early symptom that wasn't noticed at first. Very sad, but he seemed to enjoy doing it. It just made a lot of his estate unsaleable without a lot of work. That's why I am the lucky guy! Evan

That explains a lot, actually. Man, now I feel bad for whoever owned those locomotives, most of which are actually really good. But honestly, the green paint just makes the models more unique and outright bizarre which is why I like it.

I know what you mean...there's something about metal streamliners that plastic cars don't quite have. That being said, your IHC cars are still very purdy. Same with the Geep. The green paint reminds me of how some railroads used to paint the top of the hoods/roofs a darker colour, I think to reduce glare and heat from the sun.

How did you end up with so many of those things? Seriously, that's a ton.

I am certain Sean told me in the past that the New Haven was a favorite railroad of his. Any other New Haven modelers should go to Flickr and search either Sean's, 69 mustang and train name or, New Haven railroad. He has a-lot of really great stuff in New Haven. frank
