Yesterday, I received in the mail my custom stickers for some Model Power Nabisco boxcars I bought some years ago, hoping to turn them into American Motors boxcars. Well, the day has arrived! I dug out one of my completed (nearly) boxcars, and carefully cut out a new sticker. Pulled the backing off ( these are dry transfers ), and applied it to the boxcar side to the right of the door. Along with my blue-painted doors I did, this really about finishes the car, other than painting over the white Nabisco text. I worked HARD getting the red Nabisco text off the area on each side where the new AMC logo flag is now. But with this new detailing, it will look pretty good along with the Auto Racks I've redone to haul those "new" AMC AMX cars to the remote dealers. Phase 3 and Phase 4 involves the Tyco flat cars with white Santa Fe piggybacks being stripped and re-logo'ed with the AMC symbol, and then using some auto racks with broken upper racks and using them as flats with AMC cars on them for display. Since I've already got the piggyback flats mostly converted Kadee-wise, they just need trucks and axles, and then logo the trailers for them .The single level auto rack flats will be the easiest, I've got some done, just need to shave the ridges along the flat, and they're done. Should be a nice AMC consist when I'm done with it! One long-term project finally getting near the half-way point of completion, a miracle for me. Anyway, here's a few pictures of the boxcar conversion.

How about applying some of those decals to a Tyco C-430 in the bicentennial scheme...especially if you can find one with worn out presidential decals. A matching caboose would be a breeze.

Since the Tyco bi-levels are all orange and black, I will leave them that way, but maybe I WILL get one painted white for a special display car. :) Nothing is out of the realm of reality at this point. Painting them all white is not gonna happen, though. But that would look very nice! Then I'd have to paint the green piggy flats, too, and....

Eh, maybe more like this?
At least it has red and blue in it already. Will have to check to see if the wheelbase on the AMX is close to this yellow McLaren type car. Did Model Power do one like this? I think this is a Cox flat.

Yeah, that's the ticket!
I'm sure that McLaren is very overscale, so it shouldn't be too tough to find an AMX that fits.
As for Model Power, maybe they never did get that one. I swear they did have a racing trainset at some point...
