I've been working on getting this set together for a couple of years now, having been on a tight budget for a while. Finally got a good paying job that leaves a little left over for hobby stuff. Started with a custom painted Model Power E7 and added the cars from the last two local train shows. Just have two more to add, Bachmann full-dome cars that I'll attempt to paint. In all, just over $100 for the whole set. Not bad, I think. Evan

Nice set! Those colors always remind me of fall season. Anyway, here it is - my Microbusss brainbuster! We both wanted these cars, and I found them ALL at one show, one vendor on Saturday. For 35 GW's, I got all 3, with boxes and papers. And I'm sure I'll make someone too! I will post more in-depth photos of these 3 cars in another forum, maybe not tonight, but soon. They're just too good to not be documented well. And a one, a two, a three...

The infamous Walthers Tongue in cheek models! I SHOULD have bought the O gauge beer car, too, the vendor had that, but I was trying to be good. Honestly. Maybe if he still has it next year, when I plan to attend again, I can snag it too. The peanut One car is a hoot, I love the pics of Jimmy Carter, and the Peanut One signage. The car that may be easiest to repro, though, is the Impact Test Car. I may try to market a limited run, as the diode/light assembly and the pinball are probably the two most unique things for it, oh and the clear plastic sides. But I can probably find all that. I was just flabbergasted to find all 4 at one vendor, and for a reasonable price, too. I guess my Karma was good that day. Like, Microbusss?

Nice score Jerry, I was not aware of the peanut car. I'll add that to my wish list.

Well, again, I'm reaching a bit here, but here is a one car "set" of a vintage Tyco Log Unloader. It came complete in its box with a log dump car and a set of three logs that get pitched into a track side bin. The little button has a warning emblazoned in gold colored relief: "PRESS: DO NOT STRIKE." Thank heavens, I was all ready to smack the red button as hard as I could.

Awesome... without airlines! As they should be for that era.
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

Thanks. I also have the similar set from roundhouse for the D&RGW which will be headed by my 4-6-0 D7RGW in the yellow (Bumble Bee) livery. Am trying to find some more link and pins for that one as well.

Never seen model link and pin couplers before. Pretty neat. My great grandfather was a brakeman on the Pennsylvania in the link and pin era. He got his head trapped between two freight cars when the slack action hit. Fortunately, for my lineage, someone saw him and the engineer pulled the cars apart. He lived to a ripe old age, literally in the shadow of the Horseshoe Curve, after a healthy fifty some year career.
