| Hey Richard, I believe rods are quite interchangeable among models and sometimes even manufacturers. Pretty much just have to match up the length. . . . now we'll see if someone straightens me out on this statement . . .

Barry is right! 0-4-0/0-6-0/2-6-2 side rods and piston rods are interchangeable. Gimme a few days Richard and I'll see what I got in storage. There is quite a few on eBay. Common engine and a common part.

The connecting rods between the wheels of the 0-4-0 are longer than the ones on the 0-6-0. The main rods on the 0-6-0 are longer than the ones on the 0-4-0. If the engine has full valve gear, the rod between the radius and the eccentric on the main crank is different between the 0-4-0 and the 0-6-0. The whole shebang is the same between the 0-6-0 and the 2-6-2.
