Doing the upgrades over the last week on my Auto Loaders, I also gathered all the piggyback flats I could find, and got them in one place finally. I hardly make a small pile compared to Walt's collection, but it's coming along nicely. And with Tony's advice on removing the red script on the trailers, my AMC train consist is coming along nicely! The piggyback trailers will eventually ??? get some AMC logos, and be part of the train delivering those fast Rambler cars. This is the type of project that I've wanted to sink my teeth into for so long, but the threaded insert hardware I could NOT find in 2-56 was holding me up until a couple weeks ago. Thank God for Ebay! LOL. Anyway, here's a few pictures of my unformidable flat fleet finally forming together. Along with the 2 flats with Tractor cabs, I'll be hauling some serious tonnage at shows to represent AMCs. I will probably use several of the Auto Loaders as flats, as some have broken 2nd level racks, and will mount Fresh Cherries 1/87 Gremlins, Pacers, and Hornets on them. One fun project I WILL hopefully complete this year, and get it off my HO bucket list!!!

AFter tossing in bed at 3:30 AM, I finally got up to do something, and started pulling out my under-bed train storage, as I'd forgotten what I had there. Found a box with more Santa Fe trailers (5) and the orange pieces that hold them on the flats (4), so I can finish a couple of the flats now that were missing them. Yay! So far no more flats or AL's, but I have more stuff to pull out. Just took a 5:00 AM break to post a few pictures, then back to it. Wife is out of town for 4 days, so I'm not disturbing her at all. I love those piggyback cars, Jerry.
