Railroad Model and Historical Association of El Paso, O27 display at City Council Woman Lily Limon's District 7 Community Connection Fire and Rail Safety Presentation.
We met many terrific people, including a most remarkable young woman, Debra Barnett, a 20 year veteran locomotive engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad.

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."

The costume was heck to get into. I am cleverly disguised as one of eight female railroad engineers in current existence.

Gee, I wonder why... I've only ever seen one female loco engineer. It was at Horseshoe Curve a couple years ago, and guess what train they gave her? The garbage scow Yes, the only female engineer got the only trash train I saw all day. Somehow I think it wasn't a coincidence

| Used to be a female engineer up this way, I don't know what became of her. Retired maybe even by now, it's been a while.

Kamloops, BC... I see about 6-8 female engineers/conductors a year on Canadian Pacific Railway road locomotives. At least half a dozen on switcher loco's, too... besides being brake-personnel. I guess some of you need to come to Canada to see more females in those treasured high-up job positions.
John
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?
