Jerry, It may be Roundhouse. But there is no cast on door details. I suspect that it is a craftsman kit. I have packed it and it is in storage now. So a closer look will not happen for a while. Regards john

Nope, Athearn - while most people don't remember that they made one in addition to MDC, they did. In contrast to the MDC car, it had a fishbelly center frame and a much rounder roof. You can juuuuust see the Athearn coupler pocket covers in the photo. I've got a custom one in CNJ colors that I don't know what to do with... anyone model the CNJ?

I can hardly believe that thing's an Athearn. At first I thought it was MDC like everyone else. Although I can see why you say it's an Athearn.

Athearn 5341, first introduced 10/71. Two series of these, 533x in railroad names, with a 1995 re-release (new road numbers), and 534x in private owner names with no re-release. My book is pre-Horizon, possible they've been re-released since.
