My COTW is my identification station car. An Athearn Blue Box Great Northern double door box car. (The doors actually open!)

Loving it. Is that brake wheel cast on? I love that. Neat green car in back ground. The plaster gives a snow effect. That would be unique...

Yep ! That box car is a Model Power one that is made with the old Mark dies. It has a talgo coupler and truck system that has its motion restricted controlling derailments when running in the reverse direction. Only Marx did that. That is their design. Life like , Bachmann, Tyco, Mantua or anyone else that used talgo style trucks with couplers did. So you can run Marx cars and these Model Power in reverse much better.

I think the chances are 50/50 since I found 2 Spreckel's with and 2 without tops! I also found just a top to go with one of the 2 that didn't have tops, so I actually have 3 with tops and 1 without. Mantua also offered the tops separately so extras may be out there.

Thank You, Jerry.. It's not too hard to find and normally doesn't demand much money... It would look great on your layout, as does all your others...

I'm not an enabler, I'm a "facilitator;" I bring together people who want something and people who got something..." Some people get finder's fees out of this; I'm just happy to make others happy! And I'm glad you're enjoying it.
And seeing that Hustler pulling Auto Loaders reminds me of pulling my Tyco 62' Soo Line boxcar with my Life Like docksider: it seems just a liiiittle out of scale!
