Another "yesterday" acquisition at an antique store, this Revell Track Cleaner car came with the box, no insert, and a broken truck. But nice stones! I've got more than a few of this car, sans cleaning parts, just as the Maintenance car version. They seem to be rather common as the MC, I think this may be my first real Track Cleaner version. Anyway, nice to have the box with it.

My COTW is a refugee from a yard sale box that had been nearly trashed with an attempt at weathering with brown enamel paint. This is a Cox Big Pine Lumber Fire Car. Unfortunately the original paint and markings were not salvageable, so I repainted and decaled for my home road.

I like that tanker Jerry. One of these days I will learn how to make and decal my own road name.
Buss, I like your Hookers also.

Yes, those are some of the nicest Tyco cars I have seen. The bottom one must be the oldest, it has more lettering

Good stuff like always guys. My COTW this week is a Mantua 1890 passenger coach in Rio Grande livery.

A rail car bought by my ex wife years ago. I love it. But i may just display it boxed somewhere in the basement, due to it's conflicting size of cars...

* I really like Jerry's fire car. It really came out good. The decals are great. Cox sold some good train sets in their days. I remember the Big Pine lumber company set with the wood saw mill building that you slid a log in one end, and a neatly stacked pallet of 2X4's came out the other end. I thought that the quality of the low nose GP9 that came with the set was of questionably quality, but every one I have had, through out the years, all continued to run well. Some how Walters wound up with the dies for it and has made a lot more low nose GP9's. frank

Nice crane Frank, I've always liked those but rarely see them. And thanks for the kind words about the Fire Car. I have found Cox cars to be well designed and built, good quality. One of the few brands I don't feel the need to change out the trucks and wheelsets on, and the bolster pins they use eliminate the fear/danger of breaking the tabs - which I have done on AHM and Tyco cars, when removing the trucks.
PRR 4800 - yes, I make my own decals for my railroad. The ones on the Fire Car are homemade (logo) and a mix of leftover Microscale decals.

My sister May is a closet Tycoette. Recently sent me this NIB SOS 50' box. Amazing, colors bright as they were in 1970's. To see this sweet damsel rolled to the water's edge for cargo, please refer to my latest Tycomaniacal video, "Penn Central: Tyco Style," posted under Loose Ends. Caution, slippery slopes ahead!

The drop shadow appears to be missing from the word "Hooker" too.
And Chops, the tug and the SOS box share a color scheme!
