My COTW ia a pair of Cox Big Pine Lumber dumping log cars, found in the last yard sale box. Just needed a clean-up and some knuckle couplers.

Keeping in the logging theme, my COTW is an old Arnold Rapido Pennsylvania gondola car. I'm pretty sure I have another logging car but it's buried in some boxes in the garage.

This babe tracks beautifully. Don't recall it ever to derail, as yet. Now that I've said it I will probably have incurred the wrath of the Tyco Gods. I love the soft, green color; almost glow in the dark.

Apologies in advance, but I have to triple dip to keep up with influx of amazing Tyco pieces my dear friends JNTX 7707 and GMoney have been flooding me with, via the TF Trading Post. First is a Wells Fargo box car of uncertain vintage, but as per JNTX has moldings reflective of a Marx ancestry. Love that cast on brake wheel! It is da cheez! Next another find by JNTX of a PC hopper- never knew existed! Finally, a new in box Tyco Autoloader by GMoney featuring, what I am told, are AMC Javelins and Chevrolet Camaros: the quintessential muscle cars of the late 1970's!
I would have sprinkled these about the TF over a few weeks, but I am recovering from a mountain bike accident and am barely regaining the use of my left hand and am catching up. A bike helmet would have come in handy, too.

Cool wine country scene Thomas. Yeah, Jerry, well what with screw tops being more in vogue, you have to adjust your thinking on wines with an o-door versus wines with a bouquet.

You're right, Jerry. I have all of the covered hoppers that Tyco offered. The Maxwell is definitely my favorite and the Sanka is nice looking too... And, I don't ever drink coffee..
Nice purchase, Ray ! I don't believe that the Lipton hopper demands a big bid...

I guess this is a double-dip for my LOTW, but it's fresh from the shop and I didn't want to wait
All the way from Chops in El Paso, TX comes a Tyco Planter's covered hopper. I did some touch-up here and there, added some new trucks and couplers and it's ready for revenue service again. Well, kind of...my wife has a shelf full of old diner-themed knick-knacks that my billboard hoppers are currently 'on loan' to

Maybe Cox made their own cars and AHM got the tooling from them later when they got out of HO trains?
Just a guess but yes the log dump cars look to be identical. What kind of trucks bolster pins does yours have? Did they go to the one piece AHM truck?

Chris,
These are home made laser decals. They were applied and allowed to dry. They were then cut at the board seams. Then a decal softener was applied. The car was then coated with Dulcoat. My friend, Tim, taught me proper decal application. I have included pictures that show the difference the extra step makes. You can clearly see the decal film in the top picture.

Thanks John, looks great. What I need is a basic lesson in getting started in making my own decals. I've sent off for custom-made before, but they aren't cheap. Lately, I've just used pieces and parts from other decal sets. The star on my Great Central F unit is from decals for Army tanks! The ORIENT loco below uses O scale Central of Georgia decals cut to make the word Orient.
