Has anyone ever tried to use MU2 components to power a red box dummy F b unit? I wanna try it. I know the power truck should be used from the GP20 so I have a coupler and the other one I got in storage. What's y'all's thoughts?

They will work, but the red box B's had screw mounted trucks. You could cut slots for the power truck, or cut off the tabs and attempt screw mounting it. I think early MU-2's were screw mounted as well, but I've never seen one.
You could also mount it on an Athearn F7 chassis.

Hmmm. I know the trucks on my redbox GP20 have screw mounted and my F's are the same way. I wonder what kinda tractive effort I'll gain.

It's no different then powering an A unit. Earlier RedBox units all had their trucks screw-mounted via two plastic posts on the inside of the shell. Later units had the power truck mounted using metal tabs that slotted into the shell, and the dummy truck mounted using screws. No sense in hacking a 50 year-old shell, just find yourself a set of screw-on trucks.
