I just don't know what other section to put this in. Monorail models or prototypes?

Hi metalsmith1,
That is nice. I have a metal one with a silver/gray stripe. I see yours has a button on top. Is that to make it go? Mine does not operate or have any track and is a 3 car set. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice! I have the Blue and Green stripe versions which I use around the Christmas tree.

MyTyco: The button on top of mine is to activate the speech function which plays the same boarding announcement as the real monorails.

Funny thing is, I actually rode on one of these things when I went to Disneyland a couple of years ago so I know exactly what they did on the train.

That's pretty cool. Didn't know they made models of the original Disney monorails.

The announcement sounds exactly like the recorded messages on the real monorail. Also here is a tip, when you got to the park, ask the attendants if you can ride in the cab. You may have to wait for a couple of trains to come and go but I promise it is well worth it! There is absolutely nothing like riding in the cab at night during the fireworks...pure magic! quote: quote:Very nice! Isn't that kinda the purpose of Disneyland? To be magical?

I have one of the German Schuco monorail sets, got it off my boss from the train shop I work at. His parents owned it, he didn't want it, so I got it for $100. He wanted it back a few months ago, but I told him NO way. LOL!

Not surprised he wanted it back. It's such a cool piece. I guess he didn't realize how good it was until it was gone as some old saying goes.
