What is needed in a twin MU2 for it to work? A concern is mismatch MU2 on wear and what not. I always wanted to do one.

I have a Tyco / Mantua f-7 b with twin MU-2 power from the factory. I have also put together a few dual drive tyco's with PT drives and they work about the same. All you need is to make sure to wire them up correctly, pretty easy actually. The hardest part is to keep them both running in-sync. Clean wheels and track are a must otherwise one motor wants to stall and they can run pretty jerky. I found that running mine with a better running model helps .This set uses an Athearn super F-7 to keep everything moving but I recently picked up a nice matching proto 1000 F-3 that is just as useful.

In a F unit lash up, one could wire them all together with mini jumper plugs from Miniatronics so they can all share power pick up points, that would help with stalling. I have done that with older brass diesels that pick up power from one rail on each truck. Simplier than trying to put all wheel power pick up on them or rail wipers. Mike
Still NT's, I have Aspergers.
