The boys in the shop are working . . .

on their reefer inventory (ahem. OK, so I live in Colorado).

These gondolas are some evidence of their productivity.

But, they had better clear the tracks, pronto like . . .

or the folks at the rooming house'll really have something to talk about.

And this vacant building might be turned into an infirmary.

As A person that sent his life working with his hands and often his back I can tell those two gentlemen that are working on assembling the freight car, are discussing when the crane will arrive. They can place first the trucks on the track. Then lower the frame on to them, attaching the trucks to the frame. Then comes the big lift of the assembled body sit'n on its side. It looks to be a tricky lift. Got be able to lift, turn, position, then lower.
Might need a few more men.

Might need a few more men. It would seem a second crane.

I think I can relate to that on a small scale Frank, recalling the time I spent trying to line up a nice light-weight V8 motor with the automatic tranny in a nice tight space. But . . . your description of the work involved is gettin' my 'magination runnin' on what a cool scene that could be.

Barry, when your imagination is running I can't wait to see the results. Love the photographs, excellent work.

Barry, I like the way you put a story behind the pictures. It adds a touch of fun.

What's the open-sided shed with the stove in it?

Thanks Jerry. Don, that open sided shed is a piece that came with the Model Power Rooming House as an addition you could put on the side of the house. I wanted to be able to use it for something else, so I glued some sprue and scrap together to resemble a stove and there's a small pile of coal in the corner; thinking maybe the guys need to get warmed up sometimes. Ha! (Hey, I don't believe I'm hearing voices yet.)

This thread almost has the feel of a John Allen project for his Gorre and Daphetid RR!
