Here's my AOTW. An old 1966 H0 scale plan book. I consider this an accessory because you use it to help build your layouts and it gives you tips once you're finished building the layout. Eventually, I'm going to build one of these layouts in the book.

I enjoy reading those things as the track plans are really quite amazing. My next project, after finishing up Tycomania, is to construct "Railroad G" from that book, and wire it for DCC using British trains emulating 1920's. I hope your entry inspires other modelers to take another look at these remarkable track plans.

This harbor scene, obviously under construction, is being built by our friend, and long time Club member, Jose, for Amtrak National Train Day being held on May 10th. We are setting up a series of modules at El Paso Union Depot. Jose, it is to be noted, has lost most of his vision and works using strong lights and magnifying glasses, and by touch. He doesn't have much quit in him.

That was Jose's Harbor, this is my "harbor," more of a swamp, on the Dallas Station module. I love bridges, so to make an excuse for shoe horning in a small bridge, not visible here, to span the swamp. I couldn't make it a proper river, spanning the module, because the midline between the two main line tracks did not permit doubling of bridges. The little boat has been sitting in my scrap box since I bought in in 2007 at the LA Train Show. Thank heavens I finally got to use it.

Thank you for your kind words, Chops. It's helping with getting me inspired to build one of the layouts in the book.

| That looks like it might be one of those operating hopper cars with the dumping doors possibly?
