Funny don't look like El Paso. To make it look more like El Paso go and empty a vacuum cleaner bag on it- then it will look just like El Paso.
None the less, love those subway cars. I have ridden on that species in Manhattan.
As you know, the subway does go above ground for stretches, particularly as it goes to outer areas like Queens and such. Not expert on subways, but I do recall "coming up for air" now and then. I loved the ride.
Also saw that guy with that civilian possee "Guardian Angels New York City Subway Patrol," late one night trying to make my way out of the city to La Guardia. Remember those guys? Bunch of unarmed Black Belts protecting the subway riding citizenry- drove the cops bananas.
New York City??? Get a rope!
Otherwise, I had dreamed up a mini-layout consisting of a cardboard tube, maybe 4 inches or so in diameter, heavy duty-like, splitting it open, and having the subway automatically reversed to one end and then the other, past a platform jammed with commuters. If interested, I can get you a piece of roof top in HO that looks exactly like an above ground subway portal. PM me with address and I will mail it out to you free of charge.
Love your work- keep it rolling.
Chops

Here's a set that's ebay fresh (well, the cars anyway). The engines are my old Athearn PA-1's. The cars are a three-piece set of American Flyer streamliner shells riding on factory equipped Tyco chassis. These are the cars that Tyco sold in 1959 while transitioning from the old metal streamliners to the newer plastic cars. These particular cars have had their windowbands replaced with full homemade interiors.

Normally I would stay away from cars that have been tampered with, but the interior appears to be decades old. I love the vintage look.

Bunch of nice sets. I must say, though, I'm digging the set you posted Eric. Vintage. Seems to have the wear of the years in all the right spots to make it look like a real train. And, man, those interior details and people got to be worth something. I'd be interested in seeing more of the interior(s?) if it is possible to photograph them?

Microbusss, I love your TGV set. Too bad it seems to have some missing wheel sets though. Wait, maybe it's supposed to be like that but whatever, man, cool locomotive!

I opened the cars today for the first time. The interiors are made of felt wrapped around carved pieces of wood. Pretty neat.

ken - I'm wondering what silhouettes the RPO would have? Don't think I have ever seen one. If you're going to have one car missing them, that would be the best one.

Smashing B&O passenger set. And those NH coaches are starting to infest my imagination. Must stop staring at them. NH was such a superb rail network in the day. Nothing like a big fat stretch of traffic clogged interstate to fall its flag.
I read that NH, already hemorrhaging cash, was forced by the ICC into the Penn Central merger of 1968, which regrettably threw the whole pile from frying pan into the fire. Three great railroads. Totally obliterated.
