My rebuild of an AHM EMD SW1....

First I milled out the frame and mounted the can motor...

Then came the decaling...

And finally the handrails...

This was a fun rebuild. I have two more, one is in the decaling and the other are getting handrails. another week or so and they will be finished.

Very cool, Vince. A huge improvement over the stock paint job. Nice decal work.

Vince,
Very nice work on the SP engine.

I wonder if the AHM SW1/ALCO switcher could be converted to 8 wheel drive using a second power truck and a smaller motor? I have a smaller motor that may work. Would you be interested in trying one on one of your projects.

The test currents are wrong unloaded = .1 Amp and Stalled =.2 amps.

PM me if you want more info.
