If you look at it closely, the only changes in 3-dimensional detail are:
1) Adding a front end throttle linkage,
2) Replacing the pilot with one that isn't broken, and
3) Changing the tender.

Most of the improvement was in paint. The tender was a big change, but the old one would have also looked great in this paint scheme.

How we labor with fragile little super detail parts when a good paint job is 90% of the battle won! There's an object lesson here.

franks point is that the 2 main parts are there for breakage, just the rods ie 2 lengths of handrail wire need to be added, the black loco is not the before just to show the rods or lack of them, but do agree the paintwork and detailing are a great job, many thanks frank, got pride of place here ken

That is a fine piece of work. Very clean. And, I learned something . . . never knew or thought about "throttle linkage". That's a cool little detail. I like the color scheme, too. Very nice Frank.

I cant help myself sometimes. I start doing things and say everything. What went right and what went wrong. What I tried to straighten something out. If only some things didn't take 3 or 4 builds. I never thought anyone was listening. I hope what I am doing with the Lehigh Valley 4-4-0c is interesting. The way things are going scratch building and kitbashing old locomotives, giving them a rebuild as something else may be the only to get what you want for you locomotive roster.
* Good luck to everyone with their model railroads, finding the stuff you want and making your place to run and show them.
