Here is an oddball, does anyone remember the GSB SD-40-2. I think they had high hopes for this line that never really materialized.

this is the drive for the GSB unit that the manufacturer advertised heavily as the bulldog chassis. All plastic construction with lead weights, decent motor and geartrain but no flywheels.

brought out in 1983 and beaten to sales by athearns blue box,not well liked,crap motor,a brave effort by 2 great modellers,that fell at the first hurdle,only my opinion for what its worth,ken http://www.ho-scaletrains.net/gsb-resource/ /tyco/forum/uploaded/catfordken/20140310132032_gsb.jpg the 2 guys responsible for it were Gordon Cannon and Cliff Grandt ,there names should ring a bell with the older modellers
