Hello everyone, my friend is selling these old Ho scale items and I was hoping that people on here could help me with identifying and pricing them. I know the pictures aren't that great, didn't have my good camera with me. There is a santa fe GP20, an operating hopper car, caboose, gondola, flatcar, and a lionel 4-6-2 engine with smoke unit...

He wants 50 bucks for everything, there are also a couple power packs and a bag of coal for the operating hopper car. I'll find out the number on the cab for you.

The 0635 Lionel Lomotive is worth $50+, if none of the steps on the tender are broken and the rest of the engine is complete.

According to hoseeker's Lionel H0 page, your Lionel Southern Pacific loco is from the early 1960's

$50 is about market for it. The 0635 may sell, but most of those don't run due to gear issues. The operating hopper is worth $10-$25. The rest is fairly common stuff.

* First you are not doing a service to anyone taking a photo of a train in a box through a clear plastic window. There is too much reflection. The item cannot be viewed. * About Lionel pacifies. From there start, 1959, up to 1962 the basic pacific is 0625LT. the 0625 model had only a headlight. The suffix LT may have meant lighted also. The 0635 LTS pacific was lighted with smoke. The 0645 was lighted with smoke and whistle. In 1963 the numbers change, 0626LT was the basic pacific with light, 0636 was the pacific with light and smoke. 0646LTS was the top of the line with light , smoke, and whistle. The 0645 and 0646 models had a larger tender for the whistle. The others had the same tender. Pre and post 1963 may also have been the time Lionel painted the white line on the side of the walkway on these pacific's. My collection is not that big as I can tell when this line was added. The art work in the catalogs is not good enough to show this line clearly. frank

For most Tinplate train collectors, physical condition is the main factor determining value, the original box also enhances value. The operational condition of the item is a lesser factor.
All of the Lionel HO Pacifics made in the 50s & 60s ran poorly when they were new.

Sorry to disappoint you with the quality of the pictures. As mentioned in my original post, I did not have my good camera with me. I would probably try to post higher quality pictures, were I seriously trying to sell these items. But I just wanted a quick identification.
