Yes it is still available, just $10.00 http://estore.bachmanntrains.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=66_68_91&products_id=4398

And yes I know it's a Bachmann pancake drive, but still - for $10.00 it opens some possibilities in my mind. I have a pair of old ATT RDCs, the powered one long ago lost its failed motor. What if....I slipped one of these into it? The truck wheelbase would probably be different though....hmmm

I agree with you about the wheelbase, they were unrealistically long because the power truck needed to fit an armature between the axles. An old Tyco MU-2 truck might make a close replacement, and would be much more reliable.

I had no idea those were in stock! My BQ23-7 has one like it, just really loud! Seller claims cracked gears are at fault. JNXT, I could pull it and send it yer way for what ever it'd cost to ship it.May be junked, but, at least give ya a general idea.

Hey that sounds great Justin - I'll PM you my address and we'll figure out the shipping.

BTW the last Bachmann BQ23-7 I got a month or so ago had cracked gears too. Ran, but yeah really noisy and had that unmistakable cracked gear sound.
