New Haven blues. The F black PC F unit is a Tyco, hand painted, and compiled from the scrap box, and the green F unit is a new old stock Mantua piece. The Penn Central never had any asylum green locomotives that I am aware of, and the red on white "worms in love" emblem was limited to about 16 or so road diesels. The PC had a horrible habit of splashing black paint down and stenciling on the "worms in love" over the existing road name of inherited rolling stock and motive power. Near the bankruptcy, they didn't even bother to put the PC emblem on their recent acquisitions. This Tyco NH box car is an early piece, for me, before I became consumed with Tycomania. I would never commit such heinousness to another original Tyco piece now that I have descended into being a bonafide Tycohead, much to the distress of my rivet counting friends.

Chops - I love the look of that consist, even if the green PC F7 isn't 'prototypical'. As for trashing the Tyco NH boxcar - well I understand not wanting to deface a nice Tyco (I have zero tolerance on my layout for graffitti) but still, it looks very realistic with the PC patch job
