Hey,

The new line of plastic ready-to-run HO-Scale models from Tower 55 has a few curious offerings of interest to the TYCO fan. Tower 55 is probably as far from TYCO as one might get, as Tower 55 is the name given to Overland Models new entry in the high-end plastic loco market. Overland Models, as many are already familiar with, has been a major brass importer for many years.

Perhaps due to the lack of variety available in roadnames for today's modern diesels, Tower 55 has announced a "Classic Concept" series for its Union Pacific prototype GEVO diesel. The model will be dressed in Southern Pacific's "Black Widow" scheme; Santa Fe's "Freight Warbonnet"; and in Northern Pacific.

The serious 'rivet-counters' will have to hold their tongues next time they start barking about TYCO's non-prototypical paint jobs if they have any Tower 55 locos on their layout. Guess TYCO was just ahead of its time?

Maybe TYCO fans could petition Tower 55 to add "Chattanooga" or "Durango" to the "Classic Concept" line. I'd take a "Rocky Mountain Line - Comin' Round The Mountain" GEVO from Tower 55 myself. [:D]

How much chrome plating do you think it would take to produce a GEVO in "Silver Streak" paint? Not nearly as cheap as a Rambo, Olive drab model I bet! LOL!
