I love both N-scale layouts you posted. Especially the fact they appear a bit spacious and you went with a fall theme. Looks fantastic!

Would you kindly book me a seat on the Metroliner. I love your use of color and the way in which you play the colors of the trains against the autumn foliage. The trains meld into the organic colors and vice versa. Visually exciting, cutting edge use of color in model railroading.

I love this shot. A passenger train streaks by on the high iron while the daily switch job goes about its business. The epitome of real railroading.

Funny thing is, I have that exact n scale station in the background. The red one that the Daylight diesel is passing in that shot.

Different view of layout. Photo taken May 2013. Night view. Photo taken January 2015. I prefer to share my photos on this forum. Some MR AND RMC forum members have smug attitudes about layout setups. Their attitudes would not be tolerated here.

As always, just a fabulous admixture of color. Your photography, whether of models or of proto, captures the "organic" nature of railroading, tracks that meld with the geology and landscape. Thanks for another great contribution!

Enjoyed the bumper shots of the ukulele girls and the flamingo- nice touch. Also of note is the degree to which the layout was kept rural- so often I wrestle with the desire to heap everything on that comes my way, which has its own effect, but you have kept it nicely simple and thematic. Well done.

Terrific imagery, those flash shots really pop. What are those bases of Hawk Mountain? Look cheap and easy to use. One can spend a ton of money and energy on bases, and I am always looking for an easier, softer way.

Old tool shelves with wheels Jeff. Someone was getting rid of them decades ago.
I just cleaned them and been using them since. Very light. I guess Lowe's and other home stores carry similar ones.

Always a pleasure to see Hawk Mountain. Is this the one that was rescued or retrieved many years ago? What are the dimensions? The rounded corners are a nice touch. I cannot count the times I've whanged myself bopping off a square edge.

N scale layout is three feet by six feet Jeff. Two separate levels with track on each. They do not connect with each other.
This is not the rescue layout. That one is a table about 2 feet by 4 feet. A neighbor was getting rid of the table and allowed me to take it. That one I just put straight track on it and photograph the HO trains on that table.
I took some videos of Hawk Mountain this late afternoon.
First time I ran an engine on it since June 2019.
