MY COTW is a pair I picked up at a train show Saturday - an Accurail kit and an old AHM L&N flat. The kit (T&RGW 40' box car) was super easy but looks great. I loved the graphics on it.

I'll put on the recent Rock Island flats that I still have the photo in my phone. These are older Mantua with metal trucks... These are one (or two) of the few train cars that I still wanted to buy...

Awesome rainbow - I'm a shortline per diem boxcar fanatic, I've got 7 of those same cars and I think I'm up to 23 or 24 by now. SOOOO jealous of that EStLJ car, I saw a pic of the real one and haven't been able to find the HO version. Love the Tex-Mex car too!

I love my car of the week. The last time I seen this on eBay it went for $63. When it came up again I was ready to do battle, but fortunately I won it for only $19.

Thank you for the kind words. I also collect these roundhouse and athearn shortline boxcars. I feel the price is right on them, and with a few upgrades they run as well as any high quality car. This is about half of my current collection actually. I have 10 of these cars in the SPSF scheme
The EStLJ car is almost done, I was doing it as a BN patch job. Just need to find the letters.

Here's my car (or waycar) that I "scratchbashed" about 10 years ago or so. One of my first chop jobs. This car was a prototype from a wreck rebuild back in the 80's. Hope you enjoy!

Great looking caboose! I 'scratchbashed' a similar one from a pile of junk not too long ago, not as good as this one but was a fun project, I'll have to dig it out and post it.

I'll get to it eventually, I promise! And if you could spare a set of decals for your SPSF cars, I'd love to paint one up myself if I find an undec one sometime! One thing about the roundhouse cars as well - I've never liked their flat brakewheels, and the chain isn't molded on like the athearn ones, so what I do is swap out for a kadee brakewheel and (this is one of the few superdetails I like to indulge in) a little segment of real HO-scale chain from the brakewheel to the frame. Look for the combo-door version as well, in all my hunting I've only ever found one, a MoPac car.
EDIT: almost forgot - just found the Sierra RR Box like yours. Make that 8!
