New Hope/Solebury Train Show (PA)
Sunday, February 09, 2014

About an hour north of Philadelphia is my local train show in New Hope PA, which is usually twice or 3 times a year now since they stopped holding it every month a couple years back. It's not a huge show by any means, but there's plenty of HO, N and Lionel, along with a test track, refreshments, a few toy car vendors, and the new N-trak chapter that started up nearby a few months ago. I always find plenty of interesting stuff and bring back a nice stack of freight cars. (Last time I found 2 accurail autoracks for $3 each, can't beat that...)

One of the shows is 2 saturdays from now, Feb. 9th, 9:00 to 2:00. (the other one is on may 4th.) I'll be there (I've only missed two shows since 2008!) and it would be awesome to meet anybody from the forums. If you're in the area, stop by!

Address is here: http://www.trainfinder.com/trainshows/details.asp?id=1166

* Well this show is tomorrow. I'll post the flyer. Here it is. I know I'll be there when show opens. John does a lot of work to get this show going. It should be good. For me it is a little over a hour drive.
* Well Charlie, George, Bob. and me, will be there. I hope the snow isn't.
C U there.

There's something very disturbing about the thought of Mr. T and pink in the same concept.

I've been trapped without power for several days, I'll be late getting to the show this morning. Have to help get the house back in order first.

** New Hope- Solebury Township train Show **
Was Feb 9 2014. Eagle fire house Sugar Road, New Hope PA.
With the snow fall predicted I thought attendance would be slight. I wasn't counting the people but it seemed a nice turnout. The day became warm for what was predicted, and it didn't snow where I live until last night.
The train show had all gauges except for Z. A N gauge train group set up their traveling layout and all the children from 5 to 95 enjoyed it running. A giant was there with a smile as big as the world. A very nice man. He, and the members of his club, did a great job of operating their layout for those in attendance. Their was a small layout close by the N scale one. About 2 1/2 foot square in size. It may have be Z gauge. In the 4th view you can see it . it has two little boys looking at it. So I may be wrong about what I said about Z gauge not being there. There were many any families and lot of kids. I cant encapsulate the whole period of the train show for I, like everyone else was very busy enjoying it.
I will post photos of views of the show. Thanks go out to J. DeAngellis and his family, the Show Hosts, along with the members of the Eagle Fire Company, for allowing use of their location. It is a very nice place. I should have taken a photo of the outside of this location, for it is nice to view, and the people of New Hope, PA, should be proud of it and those of there neighbors who are its heart. I am sorry for not taking its photo and show it also.

Ken you might like the last photo showing 2 HObbyline sets. really it is 4 sets. 2 in each stack. I opened them and took a look. One set is a union pacific passenger set done in matching yellow and gray cars and engines. the engine is a FM Lowery H-15-44. the passenger cars streamlined. tow of the other sets are PRR passenger sets. double FA1's are the power for silver streamlined passenger cars. The fourth is a LV freight set, I think. To see four sets like new boxed in one place from 1955 to 57 is quite a find. I didn't ask the price on them.

Oh, that was you? Yes, that's me, I must confess I'm an athearn boxcar addict. That NCG car was actually quite the find, I'm cleaning it and installing kadees just now. Sorry for interrupting your packing - I had come by earlier but the next vendor over said you went somewhere!

I stopped at the show May 4 2014 before railfanning the New Hope diesel train.
Got there late but some dealers were open for business. Bought a few items.
I did not take pictures inside since Frank already posted some from February's
show. I took photos from outside the fire house and New Hope PA.

Steam engine number 40 is expected to run by Memorial day weekend.

Only bought a few items since I prefer to keep my collection at a minimum level.
Tyco engine, Mantua hopper car and Bachmann barn were enough. Even though
I arrived late, there were still dealers open and some had large amounts of
Athearn, Bachmann and Tyco equipment as well as Lionel.
