This one I came across at my Train shop job, got it from the boss for a good deal. Did some research, seems to have been released about 1982, first Tyco Catalog I saw it in was 1985. I hardly seem to see these bigger Mantua locomotives at shows, were they made in small numbers? Obviously smaller engines like the Shifter and Booster were more prevalent in sets, but I really don't see these big Tyco monsters at shows. How good are they as far are running and reliability? I've never had an articulated Tyco before, or one this huge, at any rate. It's MIB, doubt it's ever been on a track.

Like to know more about this one, and any history regarding them as Tyco offerings.

| So far as I know, that engine came about under Mantua's second coming, after 1977, and isn't related to Tyco other than sharing dies for some parts.

| Excellent runner. My 2-6-6-0 uses the 2-6-6-2 logger chassis. Never had the chance to test how much it can pull though.

Any idea what kind of motor powers this? certainly NOT a Power Torque! Would be interesting to see what this thing can do at a Train Pull event.

| Jerry, your Deep River Articulated Logger w/Tender (325-124) was produced from 1983 thru 1989. It is powered by a large MG-81 five pole motor. Mantua reissued the Deep River logger in 1991 (352-124), powered by MC-90 Sagami Motor.

Here Jerry, this should help. Had my 80's Cherry Valley logger apart to repair some wires.

I've never tested pulling power on it but I know in general from trains I've run with it, it hauls really good and runs really good!
