While working my Train shop job today, I managed to slip away for awhile and visit the Big Flea show at the Convention center. A toy vendor I like is there every other show, so I wanted to see what he had brought this time. Worth the visit, he had copious amounts of trains, mucho HO and some Marx, Lionel, and other large scale stuff, too. I wound up spending 150 on the HO stuff, I got some Marklin stuff, including a red rail bus, a misc. box of HO stuff with gas station parts, a Lionel HO helicopter, a Revell pulpwood car, among other neat treasures. I even found a Japanese tinplate Rambler station wagon, beat up but dang rare. Sure worth the visit! Another vendor, who I was walking past to get to the Toy man, had a shelf of Lionel, so I stopped to look, then noticed he had a couple plats of HO with Lionel and Marx cars, I wound up getting both plats, one with 4 power supplies, one with a Lionel HO steam engine and numerous marx/lionel cars, all for $50. He was pricey on the O gauge stuff, but was apparently not interested in the HO versions. My gain! My second Lionel HO steam engine, missing some side rod parts, but he said the engine itself ran ok. Will post pictures later, as I had to wait until the wife went upstairs before I could sneak them in the house . Shame I gotta hide my hobby these days. Oh well. A good day at the flea for me. They're open this Sunday, too, but doubt I"ll make it back for a 2nd visit, but the Toy man had lots of Marklin and Fleischmann items. Who know, maybe I can sneak away for a couple hours. Heh heh! I saw some B & O passenger cars ( Athearn? ) I wanted....

Hi AMC_Gremlin_GT,

Sounds like you had loads of fun!

Did you get pictures at the show as well?

I can't wait to see what you picked up.

Some pictures, as promised :

Above, a Marklin Rail Bus, I've been wanting a railbus for awhile, but they're usually over $80 on Ebay. Got this one for $40. Wonder if I could put another DC chassis under it? Anyway, in nice shape.

A nice Revell piece, with box. I've picked up numerous Revell flat cars, but few "regular" ones, this is a nice one.

a hard-to-find Lionel HO helicopter, plus some misc gas station and platform pieces, all for $15
