Hello, I have had interest in model and toy trains since a boy. Have build several indoor railroads from HO to O scale over the years but these days have to be content with a mid sized outdoor railroad in G gauge. It is mostly of European LGB equipment.
Back in the early 50's my older brothers sent my father various HO markin equipment which I now own. My father build a railroad using flex track which he spiked a center rail to for current pick up on those Marklin engines. The pic included shows this railroad as it was on a Mid-50 Christmas layout.
I have renewed my interest in the older Aristo Craft HO locomotives as I had an Atlantic as a boy and always liked those engines.

Welcome to the group, Vancer. My only experience with G scale is an Ebay "misfire" from last summer where an 0n30 4-6-0 turned out to be a G scale version. It's a beautiful engine, but I think I'll eventually sell it. I have no place to run it.

I have modeled in S scale for over forty (now forty-one) years, but became interested in HO, specifically Mantua/Tyco, last summer. I have to agree with you, those Aristocraft engines are beautiful. I had a 19th century 2-6-0 years ago, and continnue to look for another one. I did score an 0-6-0 late last year.

Anyway, welcome aboard!

It sounds like we all share a similar affliction in that we could be called all scalers. HO is my primary scale , but I have layouts in N scale, S, and O with G scale in the garden for the spring and summer months. I have a stable of G scale 4-6-0s myself that I run on my Covered Bridge Central line in the backyard. The Big Hauler 4-6-0 remains one of my favorites.
