I had a bit of time these past few days and I figured I would work on a couple craftsman kits that I've had for at least 20 years. I hadn't touched them due to the large number of parts--I usually prefer simpler kits or RTR or kitbash. Anyway, the first kit is a Detail Associates SP Sugar Beet GS Gondola and I'll post a picture of it next week.
I just finished the other kit pictured here, a C&BT Shops ATSF RR19 reefer. Boy was that frustrating. The tiny parts were so brittle, almost all of them (ladders, grab irons, hinges) split in two when I tried to cut them carefully from the sprue. I used them anyway and the result isn't too bad. I ended up using staples for the ice hatch handles and I'll be painting those.

Thomas - looks like the frustrating work was worth it, nice looking model. Interesting use for the staples, great idea and it works.
