on stripping it looks like this loco has had a lot of repairs made to it,ken

shell off and iterior of bodyshell

looking a bit better long way still to go,got to trim the stanchions down to size,made them out of araldite mixed with black paint as the stancions are part of diecast body,would have replaced with proper ones if both sides had been broken ken

It doesn't have the original painted Delrin bell (unless that was a production change, but I don't think so). It's also missing the shaker, not that it's a loss, since it sounds like exactly what it is: birdshot being shaken in a plastic container. The 2 I have had worn side rods from the pressure of flicking it.

Like mine it has the later weaker Pittman-style motor. My first 0-6-0 got a can motor, and the second got a stack of neodymiums and runs beautifully now.

hi np,other two are original in all aspects, had this one running for 30 mins around large radius oval,8 ft x 4ft bit noisy but ran ken
ps like you said the chuff chuff pellets cause more probs than worth their usefullness

Model Railroader did a story on this & the pic of the real loco doing switching is the SAME exact pic thats in the Varney catalog!
How do you put in the smoke fluid? Thru the stack or what?

I think you're confusing this with the Varney 0-4-0T "Docksider" ... which, to further confuse the issue, a modified version of the Varney was also sold by Revell.
