Hello! Does anyone out there have the boiler shell to the Revell Union Pacific 0-6-0T? HO Of course, can be in any shape what's so ever. After looking over the one Ken posted in LOTW I realized its saddle tank would be perfect fo my Folsom Prison #1 project. I'm on my Android so I cannot post photos of said shell I'm looking for. Thanks all!

Tank is not a separate part on that shell. I saw a parts one a few weeks back, but I passed on it.

Ken nailed it. My plan will be to cut the boiler off of the saddle tank. With care and patience of course.

Yes, the cab is separate, but the tank IS the shell. There's no guts, no boiler, nothing to remove. You could just as easily scratchbuild one from styrene as cut up one of these.

Considering it's plastic it'd be a snap. I've cut metal out before but it's tiring and time consuming. This tank is virtually a perfect match. It's not like I'd scrap the entire engine. I'd be happy to sell the frame to anyone who needs it.
I'm building everything on my 0-4-0T except the boiler. So not having to build a saddle tank would definitely make my life easier.

Well I'm screwed then.........how hard is it to find a dang saddle tank?! I have no problem modifying an already made one but building one isn't exactly in my highest interests. Frame no problem. Wood floor, tricky but came out good, and I'll gladly build the cab and motor mechanics but the saddle tank is ehh.

Hyde, Good luck...... Saddle Tanks for your cause are going to be almost "Nil" to find........ brass and die-cast metal, which if you don't have a good machinist to cut, its a bad way of going about what you were trying to attempt to do anyway......

Looking at the cab and the tank, I think that if you have the skill to build the cab you could more easily build the tank.
Looking at your workmanship on the frame and mechanism, I think you have skill to spare on both counts.
The key is to mull it around in your head for a while. A way will occur to you.

I'm sure one could separate the tank off the Revell shell. In reality that's my best hope. That tank Is the closest match to the #1 that is not custom. We'll see. It's a very crucial part to the engine, not right now, but once the boiler is here.
