Will the Bowser DC71 Pittman work on a Varney "Casey Jones" 4-6-0 steamer? " Heck with counting 'em rivets, TRAINS ARE FOR FUN! Not called the Mad Scientist for nothing either!"

I'm not 100% sure, the Bowser motor is bigger, (open frame type) BUT its the bolt location you need to match up.....I bet that bolt location isn't the same. why not try to update, and put in a can of some sort instead of a open frame? ~John
Many have tried to, and failed, ya just can't repair stupid...

When Varney introduced the Casey Jones, it was powered by a Pittman DC60 motor. When Bowser was producing the Casey Jones it had a DC71 type motor. Bowser did modified the frame of this locomotive. They may have also modified the boiler shell to accommodate the larger motor. I don't think a DC71 motor will work in an original Varney Casey Jones.
