Today at Meadowland flea Market . I found a few trains' A Penn Line generator and light car was hiding in a MDC car box with on trucks and apart. From the same dealer I also got a Varney bay window caboose, Life Like Gulf tank car, and Mantua Virginian hopper car. At another table was a Stewart EL diesel apart and missing parts, and a Athearn ATSF tank car. Some use full things. frank

*** Just got back from the Wayne train show today. didn't get much. the place was packed. Because of so many people prices were higher. Still found a few things. 2 Lionel SF passenger cars. The obs., and a chair car, to the set that I only had the FA1 and FB1 with 3 done passenger cars. Makes it look more like a set now. I found a Jouef Pullman pass car,a Rivarossi one, a Hornby Dublo one, and 2 Germen box cars.

Nice. I have a Rivarossi Santa Fe 20's passenger to match the dark green ones, if anybody needs to fill a set. If I do a passenger train, it will be a silver Amtrak one. Wouldn't mind doing the Hiawatha Line one, I rode that from Chicago to Seattle in '59.

Maybe I used the wrong term, 'set'. I just meant that I don't have anything to match it, and have made an offer on a silver Amtrak (set) of locos and cars. Funny, in one offer was an Amtrak caboose.....decorated in Amtrak colors. Did they use cabooses with the passenger trains of that decor? I get odd cars with my E-bay purchases, got a cute Fleischmann tanker, has three compartments. I'll save my freight cars for a future train. I'm enjoying fixing the broken ones that come in, will be ordering some magnets for experimenting with my Lionel motor. Want to put in bushings, too.

LV, I cant get over thinking it is a English booking hall. Maybe something made by Airfix. That is what the stations were called there long ago. Even the name" Booking Hall " I read in a old book from around 1903. * The plastic used is that hard glossy type like Bake-o-lite but not as thick. * If it was painted as concrete it would look like a DL&W standard station. * I also feel that the only reason that station is here today is that it wasn't painted. For if it were, the paints of the 1950s would have attacked the early plastic making it brittle and easily broken.

In recent years Atlas has re-issued kits which were once in th AHM and IHC line (Rural station with the double round top windows in the ends) and Life-Like lines (Car wash, drive through bank) among others.
I'm not sure the deal on this kit either - but they also offer it in O scale.

Went to the Medowlands Flea market. 2 tables only had some HO trains. A few other tables had 1 train. Not a lot to pick from. The only trains I got there was 2 Varney metal car. 1 reefer Northern Pacific, and 1 box car Main Central. I found a tootsy toy gas truck and a matchbox platform truck with stakes. Had t pay $5 each for the Varneys. and $1 for each of the trucks. Here is the tray the Varneys came out of and a few engines in a tray next to this one. You can see the 2 cars leaning on the box side on the left.

Other tray with engines.

Here you can see the 2 cars and trucks.

That steam engine on the left is a Triang international locomotive that they sold to America in the 1950's and 1960's.

The 2 rail track isn't Flyer, it's for Marx windup trains. Note the lack of fiber insulators on the ties. (My father bought a tinplate windup set at a garage sale in the 80's thinking they would appreciate... oh well. )
Nice haul, Frank, but I have to ask: where do you put it all? Do you rent a warehouse somewhere?
Btw, love that K2!

The one to grab was that B&O F-unit, it's a Tyco and a fairly rare one at that, I'd have to look it up but that oddball color version didn't last too long.
