I'll throw in a couple cars I picked up at the Huntington train show yesterday - a Globe metal Rock Island boxcar and an Ambroid Unicel reefer/boxcar. The Ambroid is a built wood kit

I like the old metal rolling stock kits; they have a level of authenticity that's missing on sheeny, shiny plastic. Nice car

My COTW:
An old Ambroid or other Navy Helium Tank car. I think I have three now... I think the old wood models have so much more character than the plastic AHM version.
Sorry for the small blurry pick... it's been nearly 3 weeks and it has not arrived yet, so I cropped a picture from the listing...

Great car choice Ben & Happy Birthday!
I normally do not leave the photos in my reply to save forum topic space, but I like New Haven so it stayed!

I have an unbuilt Ambroid kit of this Helium car, I also have many of the plastic ones, I am upgrading them with weights and better coupling. I also want to detail the tanks so there's a black line between them, to simulate the shadows. Yeah, they're not as 3-dimensional as the wood kit, but they're more common, less expensive, and you don't get the woodgrain showing through the paint. I want to do a Blimp diorama on some HO modules eventually, so got interested in the tanker cars for them.
Anyway, my COTW contribution is a Fleischmann WM hopper, ready to cut pizza .

| Question: would a tender count as locomotive of the week since it's part of a locomotive or car since there's no locomotive and has wheels?
